Advocacy Tasmania is a not-for-profit independent advocacy and rights information service. Our vision is for a caring, equitable and inclusive society.
The organisation is led by Chief Executive Officer, Leanne Groombridge. Leanne is responsible for implementing our strategic plan and for leading the efficient delivery of its services and activities.
Leanne reports to our Board of Governance. The Board provides organisational governance and leadership and has a role in determining our strategy and values. It also ensures we achieve the outcomes of our Strategic Plan. Board members include Cassandra Long, Zita Mitchell, Patrick Eadington, Nick Baily and Michael Bonsey, who are chaired by David Pearce.
The Advocacy Tasmania team numbers over 30 employees who are located around the state.
Whether it’s our Board members, CEO or employees each one of us has one thing in common. We’re all here so that injustices are made right, to fight for the rights of our clients, and to change systems that strip people of dignity and choice.
Our team love the work we do. As our workplace culture document explains, ‘working at Advocacy Tasmania is extraordinary’.
